Claire Davison is from Boulder, Colorado. She has resided in New York City since 2010 to train at the Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis School of the American Ballet Theatre on full scholarship. In 2012 Claire joined the American Ballet Theatre as an apprentice and was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2013.
She has toured with Twyla Tharp Dance, guested with various national ballet companies, and appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Claire was a selected choreographer for ABT’s Innovation Initiative and Incubator choreographic workshops. In 2019 Claire choreographed “One of Us” on the Boulder Ballet with original music by Paul Fowler. In the spring of 2021, Claire choreographed for the New York Theatre Ballet’s “Lift Lab.”
Most recently, Claire was commissioned for the Kaatsbaan Cultural Park’s Summer Festival where she created a site-specific physical comedy piece. Outside of dance Claire is a clown, having studied with such people as David Shiner, Jane Nichols, Jean Taylor, and Eric Davis. For her clowning, Claire received the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus First of May Award in 2021.
